Architect’s Note
When I undertook this project along with the responsibility to complete it, I felt as if I was beginning a journey like the ones architects make.
I walked numerous times through the empty building, without having in mind what the rooms should look like, since I figured that the building itself was going to talk to me.
It was only six rooms and a restaurant, a small-sized building for a hotel, but it was complicated for me to find its soul among the concrete, the bricks and the iron beams.
One afternoon, as I was walking through the construction site that was supposed to become a hotel, I unconsciously made a small boat from a note paper. This paper boat reminded me of the children’s song about a boat.
This was its name!!!
UNTRAVELLED
And the name of the journey was…
DREAM.
It was the only itinerary the boat was aware of.
A journey to everyone’s dream.
I dedicated this project to some of the Greeks that went across. I held on to them in order to think and act.
To these Greeks that carried not only the entire country with them, but also its people.
